Laura LaugwitzWith a scientific background in Anthropology and Gender Studies as well as practical experience in Quality Assurance, Laura wrote her bachelor’s thesis about how women create their own spaces in IT. Consequently, she is now in a 2nd bachelor – a women-only programme for Computer Science – and organizes Rails Girls Berlin events. While she supports safer learning environments for women, her long-term goal is to create work environments in which creativity and support are valued over competition and where people aren’t afraid to reflect on their privileges.
Rails Girls Berlin is part of the non-profit Ruby Berlin e.V. and offers free introductory workshops on Ruby on Rails.
